  1. So nice to have you back! Great tunes and commentary, as is always the case. And I know I mentioned this already, but your new mic sounds excellent. Much improved!

We were talking the other day about the proper way to transliterate “Aleste”, and while I understand what a lightning arrester is(what kind of electrician would I be if I didn’t?), it was only on my second listen to the episode that I realized where you were going with that. Insert sheepish grin here.

Your bowling terms segment cracked me up. I could’ve sworn a turkey was 4 strikes in a row, so thanks for setting me straight. You may have undershot your estimative description of frequency of perfect games. Most bowling alleys I’ve been to have some sort of display commemorating folks who’ve bowled perfect games in that establishment(my dad bowled a lot, which also partly explains my familiarity with Kid Niki, Karate Champ, and air hockey).

I think you’re right; I also remember that reference to Chrono Trigger’s frog sound and I also remember hearing it from Retronauts.

Also, you had earlier reassured me that you included an FM track in the episode, but of course now I realize you threw in TWO FM tracks, not one. That Fuzzy track was fun. The beginning sounds quite a bit like “Walking on a Dream” from Empire of the Sun. Consider: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eimgRedLkkU

Empire of the Sun is an interesting Aussie band that sounds like an electronic amalgamation of Michael Jackson and David Bowie, with beautifully shot videos that look like the subconscious scenes in The Cell. But I digress.

Can’t wait for more awesomeness! Thanks again!

    1. Hey hey, ND!

I'm quite sure about 3 strikes for a turkey! that much I knew before the episode. And I was only restating the origins of the "Dinosaur" tag, I'm sure they are way more common now. Bowling is practically a science.

I am familiar with Empire of the Sun (at least this track). I think I can hear what you are getting at. Should we file a lawsuit?

  3. Chie Ōya and Tomonori Minami are the sound designers of Power Strike II on Game Gear.

Tsuyoshi Matsushima (aka PSG Factory) only worked on the Master System Power Strike II which is a completely different game altogether.

    1. Hey EB! Nice catch.

Do you think in this case "sound design" was also composition? I know the two are not mutually exclusive, but can be. It doesn't help that the history of Power Strike II is such a mess...

    2. It does equate to music composition in this case at least.

  4. Hello everyone! For whatever reason, Blogger stopped sending me email notifications. I guess it's a "known issue" but as yet, no resolution. Just an FYI that I wasn't ignoring you all.
