Episode 054: It’s Showtime!

 Welcome to The Diad Presents!

1,650,240 minutes later, we're back. Enjoy the show!

P.S./Warning: I goofed up part of my audio recording for the voiceover.  Alan did some magic to save it, but there may be some annoying artifacts still here and there.  But there is no way I was doing it again.

I think the VGM all turned out clean.

  1. Excellent episode at per usual! As mentioned elsewhere, that Mbiri track was some fire! Also always down for some Jeff Ball.

In terms of time travel movies, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out Source Code and Primer. Source Code was written and/or directed by the same guy who did Moon, which is one of my favorites. Source Code is like Groundhog Day, but Gyllenhaal gets blown up at the end of each day. So, kind of awesome if you like him, but also awesome if you hate him so much you want to see him die over and over.

While I’m on the Groundhog Day but dying, I’ll have to throw in “Live. Die. Repeat.”, aka “The Edge of Tomorrow”. That’s a fantastic movie with enough behind the scenes trivia that you’d have a gold mine talking about it on a future episode. It’s also stuck with me; the story is really compelling for a big budget sci-fi flick.

So Primer: maybe we’ve talked about it before. It’s probably the most believable movie involving time travel I’ve seen. It’s a very difficult movie to categorize, done on a budget of $7,000(!?), and won the Grand Jury prize at Sundance when it came out.

Anyway, great to listen to another episode! Cheers!
